Since 1994, JCY-Westchester Community Partners (JCY-WCP) has been partnering with local synagogues to present a Holocaust Remembrance Program that features firsthand accounts by living survivors of their experiences during this terrible time. These men and women share their stories, have question and answer sessions, and spend time personally interacting with the students.

The enduring impact of the Holocaust is addressed and its lessons applied to contemporary issues of prejudice, intolerance, discrimination, bullying, and moral decision making. Through these efforts, JCY-WCP hopes to ensure that the Holocaust and the brutality that humankind inflicted upon itself is never repeated.

The Holocaust Remembrance Program is coordinated by JCY-Westchester Community Partners in partnership with the Yonkers Public Schools, Congregation Vayetar Yitzchok, The City of Yonkers, Yonkers Commission on Human Rights and the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center. HRP is funded by the Chuck Goldman Family Supporting Foundation and Marc & Carine Furgang. The Yonkers Public Schools generously provides free bus transportation for its students.
